Rihanna might be ready to reveal details on the infamous assault by Chris Brown that happened over 6 months ago. Rhianna is a confirmed guest Jay Leno’s new show. We don’t know how much she will open up about but she will be performing with Jay-Z and Kanye West on their joint new single.

We hear that Mariah Carey is struggling to finish her new album ‘Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel’, primarily because she is nervous about Whitney Houston’s long-awaited comeback. Mariah’s CD is due to hit the shops soon, but she’s so worried about Whitney that Mariah is reluctant. She knows that her album has to be perfect.

Dannii Minogue on has admitted to reading the show’s comments about her frozen face. The beauty is said to be stung by the online jibes and has vowed to leave botox alone- she wants to use full use of her facial expressions in this years show.

There are rumors of two new musicals that we are really looking forward too. Firstly, Spider-Man the Musical- They are having financial trouble but Bono, the writer, did say the show WILL go on. Whilst we’re waiting for that one, apparantly there will be an ‘Amy Winehouse the Musical!!!

Despite her recent stint in rehab, Mischa Barton isn’t the star producers are concerned about in the new CW series ‘The Beautiful Life,’ but her co-star Elle Macpherson. One insider put it plainly: she ain’t no Judi Dench, and the problem with the show is that they’ve hired too many models who all need acting coaches, especially Elle Macpherson. Mischa is doing just fine.

Not only is she an articulate, quick-witted rockstar of guerilla reporting, she has formed a mini empire through expressing her honest, acute perspectives so many large news sources fail to relay. No issue is too large or too trivial. The Resident comments on everything from obnoxious word trends like the sarcastic rhetorical inquiry “REALLY?” to the growing problem of obesity in America. Hanifest is like a fresh yet spicy habanero pepper, capable of clearing the clogged passages of your sinuses, all the way to the core of your cranium. It’s quite a relief.

Engagement rumors about Britney Spears and her boyfriend/manager Jason Tarwick persist! Many sources say that marriage could be the very thing that settles Britney down and frees her from her controlling father! Daddy Spears is set to give up control of the stars estate as soon as Britney ties the knot.

Amy Winehouse is on a solid road to recovery but this time it wasn’t a conventional interventions that encouraged her to head back to rehab. Amy has reportedly been visited by a ghost, but this was no ordinary haunting! After visiting a medium in St Lucia, apparently the spirit of Michael Jackson spoke with her and asked her to change her ways. Winehouse heard Michael’s voice telling her that if she didn’t sort herself out soon- she could lose everything. I’m betting she had been playing “Man In The Mirror” on repeat after a six day drug binge. Just a thought.

Just when you thought being dumped on your birthday was bad enough- it gets worse. Tony Romo has ordered his security team to blacklist ex-girlfriend Jessica Simpson from his  entire life! A sign on his front gate reads ‘RED ALERT’ and Jessica’s name has been added to the list of banned access. Not that she wants access. When they broke up, Jessica spent $10000 on a team just to get her things out of his house over night!

HBO’s newest series Hung takes an unconventional approach to portraying prostitution, so you can say goodbye to the highly romanticized happy hooker or scantily clad streetwalker, the ass grabbing Johns and ho-slapping pimps. After an initial failed attempt at male-whoredom, Drecker ironically turns to a past hookup-gone-bad, Tanya (played by Jane Adams,) as a networking tool and pimp of sorts, responsible for bringing the the plethora of lonely souls into Drecker’s unsympathetic arms.

Funny People is the new comedy release for summer 2009. For those unfamiliar with the movie’s plot, Funny People is a comedy about comedians starring comedians. George Simmons, played by Adam Sandler, is a rich, famous, lewd comedian who has resorted to romantic-comedies and sub par children movies. It is not until he is diagnosed with a terminal illness that he gets back on the right path. Seth Rogan stars as Ira Wright, a very mediocre budding stand up comic who is overshadowed by his more successful roommates (who are played excellently by Jonah Hill and Jason Schwartzman). The two cross paths after Wright has a rare successful set based on bashing the preceding one by a depressed Simmons at a small comedy club. Simmons takes Wright under his wing as an assistant and opening act and the two tour and become best friends, although neither fully embrace the friendship.

That was just the first half of the movie, the extended trailer reveals the plot twist but I won’t ruin it for anyone who doesn’t know. That synopsis makes it seem like a melodramatic Sandler effort, but it really isn’t. While it is a very dark comedy, Apatow still supplies us with plenty of laugh out loud material for over two and a half hours. The movie drags a bit, in my opinion, but it always lightens up and cracks a good joke before staleness can set in.

The acting in the film is impeccable in my opinion. Sandler and Rogan have develop a great rapport for each other through the film, and are aided by Hill, Schwartzman (who was the weakest in the movie in my opinion, but still great), Leslie Mann, Aubrey Plaza, and a great job by Eric Bana as Mann’s somewhat crazy Australian husband, and Sandler’s main opponent as her love interest. Other comedians aid in the film, such as Aziz Ansari who plays the absolutely insane comedian Randy. Eminem also assists in one of the best cameos i’ve ever witnessed. He can really act, I’m surprised he hasn’t delved into film much since Eight Mile.
