Can Pick Up Lines Actually Work?
There is something tragic about a guy using a pick up line, something so fervently cheesy that you can almost smell a hint of Havarti on his desperate breath. But there is a pretty big difference between a guy who uses pick up lines for real, and a guy who understands their inherent foolishness and uses them to be funny. The latter may actually work to their advantage! A few other things that might actually allow for successful pick up line usage is confidence (not to be confused with cockiness) and good looks (duh.) Most women don’t come with a manual that shows you how to turn them on. But lines such as “What time do you have to be back in heaven?” can earn you a giggle and, more often than not, a date.

You can use pick up lines to be funny (my recommendation) or to just break the ice. Either way, there needs to be a lot more that happens after that. A pick up line alone doesn’t do anything but open the door.
